About Us 

"Agong Books is an independent publisher based in Austria, Europe with a focus on international literature and translation publishing.

The name "Agong" is inspired by the Taiwanese word for grandfather, reflecting my belief that stories connect generations, cultures and families. Inspired by family ties and a passion for discovering meaningful stories from different cultures, I aim to introduce exceptional books that deserve a wider audience. This idea is especially close to my heart, as my daughter is growing up with both cultures.

For me, publishing is not only about bringing books across languages, but also about creating a space where different cultural perspectives can meet, resonate and be shared.

I am committed to discovering exceptional books from around the world and introducing them to readers through carefully edited, beautifully produced German-language editions. With a particular sensitivity to cross-cultural storytelling, I aim to publish books that speak to readers across borders and reflect the richness of the worlds we live in."
